Becky Lou Blaylock professes to be just an ordinary housewife, but the people of southwest Texas know better. At Mesquite Community College, Becky Lou heads up a brand new research unit that studies killer bees.
Texas has been hit particularly hard by the bees, which over the last decade have swarmed north from Mexico, causing harm to livestock and to more than a few humans in the area. Becky Lou has made it her personal mission to eradicate the vicious insects. "I was never one to be intimidated," she says, "and when those darn bees started messing around with my lifestyle, I knew that eventually I'd go sticking my nose into theirs."
