 |
Brown, Dan - So far, he's only
written 4 books, but they are all great! If you read nothing else, read
The Da Vinci Code just for the perspective on Christianity. |
 |
Cobin, Harlan - Great suspense
writer. His latest, Gone for Good, is excellent! |
 |
Connelly, Michael - Writes excellent
detective novels. Start with The Black Echo novel. |
 |
Crais, Robert - Another great
detective writer. |
 |
Fleming, Ian - The original James
Bond books are great spy stories. |
 |
Follet, Ken - I read the Eye of the
Needle years ago, but Code to Zero, a more recent thriller, is a good
read. |
 |
Haig, Brian - The son of Alexander
Haig. Writes excellent military, legal thrillers. |
 |
Hunter, Stephen - His novels about
the sniper are fast-paced and gripping reading. |
 |
Iles, Greg - Excellent thriller
writer. The recent movie Trapped was based on his 24 Hours
novel. |
 |
Lescroart, John - Write great legal
thrillers (and he's not even a lawyer)! |
 |
MacLean, Alistair - The master of the
suspense novel! He turned me onto reading suspense novels back when I was
in the 8th grade. I've read Puppet on a Chain three times! Many of
his books have been turned into movies, including Ice Station Zebra,
The Guns of Navarone, and Where Eagles Dare. |
 |
Meltzer, Brad - Great legal
thrillers. |
 |
Morrell, David - I read The Fifth
Profession first, which is about bodyguards, and then bought all the
rest! Testament is one of his best, and the Brotherhood of the
Rose series is great. By the way, Morrell created the Rambo character
in his first novel, First Blood, and not Sylvester Stallone! |
 |
Pearson, Ridley - Great detective
novels. |
 |
Sawyer, Robert - Writes science
fiction suspense novels. Even if you don't like science fiction, you'll
enjoy Rob's novels. They are suspenseful and thought-provoking. His latest
trilogy, starting with Hominids, deals with a parallel universe of
Neanderthals and the implications for humanity. Check out Rob's web page
at
www.sfwriter.com. I've "known" Rob for years through the old
WordStar Forum on CompuServe. |
 |
Woods, Stuart - His earlier novels
were long and intricate. His later novels are trashy, but great reads. |
