Thanks to Padma Rabzang for this. The Giant Intro: that fill ed does in the intro is just variations on a D. the way to play it in open tuning is 1st string, 5th fret, 2nd string, 7th fret, 3rd string, 7th fret, 4th string, open; and then up to 1st:10 2nd:10 3rd:11 4th:12 or open. Basically just D in 2nd and 3rd positions. On the second fill ya don't go up to 3rd position, ya go back down to first and rock back and forth between the 2nd, 3rd, and open frets on the 1st string. That's it! 'bzang Ed plays this is some wierd open tuning, it's an Ed thing. He does that. :) But here it is if you're a dunce like me and can't figure out open tuning thingies. Intro: Bsus2 G D :|x3 Bsus2 G A G Wake the giant that's sleeping, D smell the ale from his snore. G Are those tears that he's weeping? D Is that sweat from his pores? Bsus2 G D Lonely smiles and unwinding spirals remain, Bsus2 G D bare feet in mud puddles, cherry red tongues tasting rain, Bsus2 G D whirlpools of anger from unnoticed eddies of pain, Bsus2 G A and long after fires, old coals start fires again. (like 1st verse, bounce back and forth between G and D) Only wind can turn windmills, only sun can steep tea So I wait for the giant, so he's waiting for me (same as 1st chorus) Smiling gods and far away, planets collide, shepherds in fields and one shining star that would guide, and I'm spinning in music to harness the harmony tide, and dealing with failure if onlt to know that I tried. G D A D G D A D G D until you're blue in the face, over the bridge: But don't say, Jack, where's your beanstalk?" Don't say, "fee fi fo fum," because you might not believe me, but my time has come, The giant is stirring, the slumber will break, catharsis awits me, the chance here to take. So don't say, "Jack, where's your beanstalk?" then coda to 1st chorus, then back to GDADGDADGDADGDADyadda. there it is! Fun song. Chicks dig it, it'll make ya popular, everyone's doing it, and it'll make ya feel real good too. 'bzang
