| Matches will be played if at all possible, but field conditions can make postponement necessary. If conditions are questionable, a message will be put on our answering machine and also on the web-site. Conditions for Saturday games will be assessed by 7:00 am and we will operate on a one-hour delay. Example: If you have a 9:00 game and the weather is bad, we will postpone that game until 10:00. The 10:00 game will then be played at 11:00 and so on. Tuesday - Thursday weather will be assessed by 5:00pm but will either be played or cancelled. We will not delay on school nights. If the weather changes quickly and there is not a message on the machine or on the web-site, you are expected to report to the field as scheduled. If conditions arise during a game, the referee will make a ruling on the field. |
| Parking and Trash We are guests at all game sites. Please park only in designated areas and clean up your mess when you leave. The new parking lot at Gardner Webb (across from the tennis courts) is now complete and they request that we use that lot this season. Shelby High School has requested that we not park on the grass at any time. There is plenty of parking available in the student parking lot. |
| Location
of Teams and Spectators Teams, coaches, and their spectators should take positions on opposite sides of the field when possible. If fields are side-by-side, it may be necessary to let the players locate in the middle and spectators on the outside directly opposite their own team. |
| Code of Conduct Impermissible conduct (as defined in our policy manual) by spectators, players or coaches will not be tolerated and will be dealt with as provided for in the NCYSA rules and regulations. Become familiar with this policy (it is available from your coach) because the rules will be strictly enforced. |
| Equipment
All children participating in a game are required to wear shin guards. Soccer cleats are recommended. No jewelry of any kind may be worn. If the weather is cold, warm-up pants and long sleeved shirts may be worn under the uniform. Please be sure that the jersey number is visible to the referee. |
| Adopt a Referee All of our referees have been fully certified by the NCYSA. They are, however, human and many are young. They will make mistakes. Please keep your criticism constructive and directed to our referee director. These young people have taken on a lot of responsibility and it is our job to support their efforts. |
