Welcome to my homepage, my name is Ben Beard. I am a computer programmer currently working for PeopleSoft in Charlotte North Carolina. I have been programming since the early 80's in Basic, Pascal, C, C++, Assembler, and Java and I have written all kinds of software ranging from games, DOS utilities, business database managers, data encryptors, even Hurricane tracking software. I also dabble in computer graphic arts on the side, a little 3D modeling and image work.
Probably my biggest hobbie outside of computers is cycling. I love mountain biking, downhill racing and even a little BMX when I get the time. I also do a bit of surfing, about 15 years at it but the only good east coast waves to be found are during hurricanes which are fickled at best so I don't get down to the beach as often as I would like.
